The Dallas Independent School District's Alternative Certification Program is seeking persons who are not education majors who are interested in teaching.

Dallas ISD is looking for 200 persons to train in the summer of 2010 to become classroom teachers in the areas of Elementary Bilingual; Math & Science (middle & high school). Beginning teacher salary is $44,350.


They will be interviewing in the Career Services Office on Friday, February 12 between 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Call the Career Services Office at 940-898-2950 by 5 p.m. on February 9 to sign up for an interview, and bring a copy of your resume to the interview.

They are looking for persons with the following qualifications:
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree to be conferred by August 15, 2010.
  • GPA: 2.5 overall and in the subject area.
  • Middle and high school teaching require 24 semester hours in the respective subject areas.

Spring 2010 Payment Dates

January 12 – 6 pm – Early Registration Phase I Payment Deadline for Spring 2010. All non-paid registrations will be dropped. Students may re-register January 13-15 without incurring a late registration fee.

January 15 – 6pm – Registration Phase II Payment Deadline for Spring 2010. All non-paid registrations will be dropped. Students may re-register during late registration and incur a late registration fee.

January 19 – 22 – Late Registration Period. Late registration fee will be applied.

January 22 – 6pm – Late Registration Payment Deadline for Spring 2010. Minimum payment and acceptance of the online payment plan agreement must be made by this deadline. All non-paid registrations will be dropped.
